This was a pretty intense show to come back to scene painting with. There were two main painters (including myself) and a shorter time frame than usual to get everything done so it was a really long sprint to get it all together and up. It turned out really fantastic but the production process was a bit more of a time crunch than usual.

I was the set designer for this show and ended up doing a vast majority of the painting myself too. The theatre program at the school was still rebuilding and resettling after covid and staff changes so there wasn't a reliable group of students or teachers to take on certain roles, so I stepped in to the roll of Set Person.

As an 8th grader that had been involved my whole time in middle school I spent a lot of this show teaching the newer kids how to do different things and helping keep everything on track. There were a lot of us in my grade that has been on the paint crew for years at that point so it felt imperative to impart our greatly learned ways to the youngins'.

We finally got actual flats! This allowed us so much more freedom and creativity with what we could accomplish. This show was one of the visually coolest shows we did while I was there.

We were still dealing with cardboard flats at this time and it made this show particularly difficult.

This was my first foray into the world of technical theatre and boy did I have fun. This was one of the most challenging shows we did while I was in middle school for reasons totally unrelated to the show itself - we had no proper flats yet so everything was cardboard, bits of set and props kept getting discarded by janitors, making us redo things all the time, and overall it was a mess but it clearly got me interested in this world.
